Contributed significantly to the development and evolving design of BCMS Corporate UK and eleven international websites (2011-2015).
BCMS has been helping people sell their businesses for more than 20 years and is now the UK market leader. BCMS has expanded into North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and offers their services in more than thirty countries! Their reach has been prolific and today the company engages in pre-negotiation dialog with more than 50,000 potential acquirers every year.
At ikonic, I worked alongside a small team dedicated to expanding BCMS' digital reach through the development of several localized, multilingual, marketing websites.
BCMS saw rapid growth in their future after expanding to the United States and Asia. Despite some reluctance to invest in digital, the further expansion demanded a thorough audit and assessment of their digital marketing efforts. Ikonic was enlisted to make this assessment and pave a path forward for BCMS's internal marketing team.
Our recommendation was to start with a single, UK website that would evolve into a powerful, international marketing platform. The platform would need to be robust, scalable, and future-proof. Our primary marketing goals included:
- Increase general inquiries
- Introduce potential clients to the brand
- Establish BCMS’s credibility
- Increase brand image

Through a detailed design process, ikonic and BCMS's marketing team addressed a comprehensive list of business requirements and technical specifications. Ikonic also built wireframes and design concepts to help communicate the final outcome.
After the UK site was launched, my team was tasked with implementing multiple international sites that would expand on existing functionality.
The UK site was build on a modular CMS with open-source enhancements like multilingual support and multi-site available. Despite this, BCMS opted to duplicate the entire UK site for each international market in order to retain more granular control over content on each build. This also allowed international teams to host and manage their own sites if they chose to do so.
Interior Layout Examples
We customized a powerful taxonomy system to categorize content within the CMS. Dynamic content is then suggested to users as they browse the site. The build also included an interactive success gallery to highlight recent deals and a showcase for the global BCMS team. We also included a news aggregator and feed designed to push relevant articles across the site and out to any and all international websites.
The new websites have been an overwhelming success across the organization and have had a significant impact on generating new leads:
- New leads increased 150%.
- Site visitors per month increased 38%
- Average time on site increased 250%
- Bounce rate decreased 45%
