We brought this decade-old firm back to the future with a powerful content mangement system and a custom content workflow.
In 2013 Mouth had the vision to know that if you don’t have the tools to reach consumers, you’re sunk. And while they make it their profession to provide those tools to their clients, they themselves had a website that was stuck in the past. Mouth was maintaining a simple html website that they could not update in the office. Update requests were sent to a digital agency in another city making the site both expensive and time-consuming to manage.
My team was tasked with building a website that would offer modern features and bring scale and accessibility to the Mouth team. The team didn't just needed an interface for adding and editing content, but also a truly simple workflow for managing content. It was very important that the workflow be foolproof, and that the team would not have to be creative to build content or pages.
I met many times with leadership at Mouth to first sketch out the technical requirements of the build and later to present design concepts and eventually to provide training to those members of staff who now maintain the website content.
My team chose to build the website on the most flexible content management system we could find: Drupal. The CMS allowed us to be extremely creative in designing a content management workflow to fit the exact needs of Mouth's analytical team.
The website launched in the Spring of 1013.
